Introduction

Foto Marcelo Oliveira/Diário Gaúcho - www.clicrbs.com.br     LABELO is an Electronic Calibration and Tests Laboratory that belongs to the Catholic University located in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil.

It was created back in 1967 as an electronic practicing laboratory, intended to provide to the students an academic atmosphere to build and test their electronic circuits.

As time goes by, the metrology behavior in Brazil was increasing and the national industries, at that time, realized that was necessary more accuracy in their measurements. Many quality programs had been started, and needs for metrological support increased. The field for a national metrology network was ready to start.

The LABELO got its accreditation in 1991 into the Brazilian Calibration Network (RBC in Portuguese), coordinated by INMETRO (Former National Metrology Institute) and since that time, has been known as one of the most important and large electronic calibration laboratory throughout the country.

Its services are based upon two major groups (Calibrations and Tests) and each one of them is split into some specific laboratories that cover different areas.

We keep partnerships with the main leaders in test, certification and calibration arenas. Among other activities LABELO provide technical training in metrology area and executes RF field measurement services, as complementary services to our main activities.
