Calibration Laboratories

LABELO is formerly recognized by many official institutions like INMETRO in Brazil and the German Calibration Network (DKD in German), in order to make calibrations in the High Frequency area.

This cooperation started in 1997, when LABELO got its accreditation from DKD and became an official member of the German Calibration Network, following the traceability for HF and disseminating the metrological culture throughout the country, as a primary reference laboratory in Brazil.

     This partnership is the recognition of our top level quality and seriousness that we put in on the job. Included, LABELO has a large roll of partnerships with institutes which had helped us to develop and disseminate the metrology culture among the Brazilian society.

     The calibration laboratories are divided by technology areas as below:

Time & Frequency

The Time & Frequency laboratory covers all sorts of equipments that measure these parameters, Time Interval & Frequency.
Some of these equipments are Frequency meters (Hz), Oscilloscopes (Volts/Div), Stopwatches (sec), etc. Due large scale automation we are able to perform calibration very efficiently keeping the highest level of quality. Our team had developed an automated acquisition test system that allows us to calibrate mechanical and electronic chronometers very fast with unbeatable uncertainty due the use of laser beam acquisition process. No other laboratory does use such technology or is able to offer better services on this area.

Eletricity

     The Electricity laboratory is dedicated to calibrate those parameters involved in the electric field such as Capacitance (Farad), Inductance (Henry), Resistance (Ohms), Voltage (Volts), Current (Amperes), etc.
     Some of these equipments are Multimeters, Capacitance Meters, Calibrators, etc. Our technical capabilities do include 1000 A AC/DC, and 12kV AC/60Hz. Up to 700V we are able to perform calibrations in the frequency range of 1Hz to 1MHz.
     Labelo's team had developed an automated acquisition system to allow to capture, using a camera, the display contents of instruments that doesn't have any kind of external interface (like small hand helds). Thru this system we became able to perform automated calibrations on hand held instruments, reducing the calibration time and costs involved.

High Frequency

     The High Frequency laboratory is able to calibrate RF / Telecom equipments like Network Analyzers, Radars, Psophometers, etc, normally used to measure power (Watts), relative level (dB/dBm) of parameters like return loss, Impedance, etc.
     LABELO is the top level reference laboratory in this area in Brazil, being accredited by PTB (Germany) as DKD laboratory under number DKD-K 21301. With an large customer base, LABELO´s high frequency laboratory provide metrological support for government, private industry, telecom operators and other metrology laboratories inside and outside Brazil.
     We also provide on field calibration services, on request.

Included, is important to point out that this laboratory also carry out some measurements in the telecommunications field, specifically in the mobile telephone system. In this case, the parameter that is measured is the Electrical Magnetic Field Density (mV/cm2), as well as frequency response measurements on high voltage transformers.

Temperature and Relative Humidity

     The Thermometry laboratory performs calibration in all kinds of Immersion Thermometers, Thermoresistors, Thermocouples, Glass thermometers, Digital thermometers, Higrometers, etc.
     All measures are taken in (ºC), (°F) or K.
     We may also comment that on this laboratory our team had developed a high resolution video based acquisition system to improve our capabilities collecting readings on glass thermometers and reducing the final uncertainty at no additional cost to our customers.

Electroacoustic

     The Acoustic laboratory is intended to calibrate acoustic devices like sound level meters, sound calibrators, filters, microphones, etc.
     Our electro acoustic laboratory was recently recognized by INMETRO as an accredited laboratory and present complete setup to perform calibrations on test instruments of many different models with the highest overall performance.
     On level pressure meters we are capable to perform calibrations as in IEC 60651, IEC 60804, DIN 45657 (German Standard) and BS 7580 (British Standard); on analysers as in IEC 60651, IEC 60804, IEC 225 and IEC 61260 ; on filters we are capable as IEC 225 e IEC 61260; on microphones we perform calibrations as on IEC 61094-6; and finally on calibration setups and piston phones as IEC 60942.

Photometry

The Photometry laboratory is capable to perform calibration of measurement devices like photometers, luxmeters, etc.
We guarantee our traceability directly with INMETRO and PTB, including to our reference lamps.
